Allgood, formerly known as Chepultepec, is a town in Blount County, Alabama, United States. At the 2010 census the population was 622.〔(【引用サイトリンク】 title=Geographic Identifiers: 2010 Demographic Profile Data (G001): Allgood town, Alabama )〕 The mayor, Gene Armstrong, recently made headlines following the passage of Alabama H.B. 56 when he stated, "We managed in the past without illegal immigrants to pick the tomatoes here, and I haven't heard anyone say that if we sent them all home nobody would be left to do that work. When you have 9 percent unemployment, I think that some people who might not have wanted those jobs previously might reconsider." ==Geography== Allgood is located in south-central Blount County at (33.904216, -86.516428). It is in the Murphree Valley, with Straight Mountain to the southeast and Red Mountain and Sand Mountain to the northwest. Alabama State Route 75 passes through the town, leading northeast to Oneonta, the county seat, and southwest to Birmingham. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , all of it land.
